Another plastering job in Penarth this week, the customer wanted all 4 walls boarded with soundproof plasterboards & skimmed plus the artex removed & reskimmed on the living room ceiling.
Day 1. I dot & dad all the walls & scrapped the artex off the ceiling ready to be skimmed.
Day 2. PVA ceiling then mix plaster, Skim ceiling. The in the afternoon 2 opposite walls.
Day 3. Mix Plaster & skim the 2 remaining walls.

This is our lastest plastering job in Newport Gwent, the customer wanted their wall replastered due to damage for removing the wallpaper.
The walls were high, which is why I needed some large step ladders to reach the top of the wall.
I applied the first coat of plaster in no time at all then the second coat of plaster pretty soon the walls were covered in plaster ready for me to smooth it out.
This job only took a few hours & the customer was very happy when the job was complete.

This job in Cwmbran was a lovely plastering job on a new build site, In the picture, you can see this will be where the stairs will be & this is the attic room which is already plastered and the painters have already painted the walls.

- First Trowel
Once the second coat of plaster has been applied and given enough time to start setting the first trowel will be applied filling in any marks or blemishes along the way.
- Second Trowel
Plaster will be left alone to set more, then the Second trowel will be applied after cleaning around the edges, water will be applied to the wall or ceiling while troweling the area making the wall smooth while removing any blemishes left in the plaster.
- Third Trowel
The third trowel is applied with minimal water & more pressure smoothing the wall as the plastering trowel glides over the plaster.
- Finishing/Hard Trowel
This is the fourth and final trowel, Not all plasterers give their wall a hard trowel but Hawk Plastering Cwmbran always applies a finishing trowel to our work. The plaster will be completely set & solid, with no water applied, the hard trowel will make the wall or ceiling super smooth.

I plastered this ceiling in Newport in just a few hours it was fully plastered and looking smooth, the customer had ugly Artex on their kitchen ceiling and wanted it removed.
After scraping off the Artex with a commercial scraper the ceiling is given a good coat of PVA which helps the plaster with suction and won't make the plaster dry out and unworkable.
Once the PVA becomes tacky I mixed up some plaster using Thistle multi finish, then I applied 2 coats of plaster, making the ceiling Artex vanish as a move up the ceiling.
Once the plaster becomes drier it becomes more workable and I started smoothing out the ceiling removing any line and imperfections at the same time and as you can see the ceiling look beautiful and I'm very happy how this plastering job in Newport has turned out and another happy customer.

Just finished plastering this new build in Newport Gwent, this is the kitchen area in the picture I plastered the ceiling first which all plasterers
working my way down to the walls.
As you can see from the photo I still need to plasterer the
two walls on the left & right, this room will take me 1 day to plaster from top to bottom this is because I'm working on a site.

There isn't any prep time unlike residential plastering where there maybe lots of prep before you even start plastering, It's been nice plastering on this site in Newport all the guys have been lovely and I really enjoyed my time plus the plastered wall & ceilings look beautiful if I say so myself.

This customer in Newport South Wales wanted all their Artex removed from their ceiling, they also had damaged walls from all the old plaster and the removal of the wood chip wall paper.
With an other happy customer, this room will be soon painted and will be looking much better thanks to the new plaster on the walls and ceiling.

This beautiful conservatory was run down and the walls were falling apart, the owner of the property just moved in and wanted to restore this room to its former glory.
After all the damaged walls were hacked off the walls were then given a good coat of PVA ready for plaster.
